Here are some links which are inspirational:
Bruce Sharp:
SoftImage god, Xbox Art Director, Society of Illustrators Blue Ribbon Winner (and my instructor!).
Chris Hopkins:
Master of airbrush, acrylic and oils, Chris Hopkins is the best of the best. A graduate of Cal Arts, he has created many memorable pieces everyone in contemporary life has seen – you just didn’t know it. Whether it’s “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi” or “Indiana Jones: Temple of Doom” posters, or all of the Super Bowl posters for a decade, he has influenced the visual memory of anyone with exposure to media in the last few decades.
Dennis Lewis:
A truly outstanding painter and illustrator, Dennis Lewis creates stunning masterpieces. Do yourself a favor and check his work out! (He was also my illustration instructor!)

A Photoshop Artist who has developed some amazing techniques to create deep space objects in stunning visualizations.
Reynold Brown:
One of the greatest illustrators, Reynold Brown created movie posters ranging from some of the best known movies to many cheezy, Hammer Films horror movies. He was an amazing talent.

“Stories That Move Mountains”
Authors: Martin Sykes, A. Nicklas and Mark D. West (Mark was not only my Digital Painter instructor back in the day, but he is also a good friend!)
This is a great book to help understand and implement visual design.
Ben Willmore: Photoshop Master
Photoshop Master Ben Willmore caught my attention with “CS2, Advanced Techniques”, and I used it as the text for my Photoshop classes. His audience is primarily in the photography realm, but his techniques can easily be applied to those of us who create in Photoshop.
Photoshop User:
Scott Kelby, the original Photoshop Guru, has incorporated Photoshop User Magazine onto his site. If you want to learn Photoshop and other design tools, this is a great place to do it. Lesa Snider is also one of the instructors. She’s awesome.
Painter Magazine:
Of all of the digital image creation tools, nothing can match Corel Painter. Painter Magazine is a tremendous resource to improve art and drawing skills.
The National Gallery, London:
The Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam:
The Louvre:
